Julija Abram

Madis Leivits

https://www.etis.ee/CV/Madis_Leivits/est/

2020–... Eesti Toksikoloogia Selts

2017–... Eesti Loomaarstide Ühing

2014–... Wildlife Disease Association

2014–... European Wildlife Disease Association

Alates 2021 aastast on Madis ka Eesti Loomaarstide Ühingu president.

Konverentsil avab Madis plenaardiskusiooni "veterinaararstide katusorganisatsioon" mis võiks vallandada diskusiooni ELÜ, kui veterinaararstide ühtse katusorganisatsiooni, tulevikusuundade üle.

Marili Martis on lõpetanud Eesti Maaülikooli veterinaarmeditsiini erialal
2013.aastal. Marili on läbinud 2016 aastal Helsingi Ülikoolis väikeloomade meditsiinis internatuuri.  Marili on Eesti Väikeloomaarstide Seltsi liige, lisaks kuulub Euroopa veterinaarhambaarstide ühingusse.

Kõige silmapaistvamateks täiendkoolitusteks ilmselt on ESAVS-i anestesioloogia ja erakorralise meditsiini/intensiivravi täiendkoolitused.

Lecture summaries:
1.Beef Fertility – Why is the vet is so important to herd performance? As vets, we have the ability to have a significant impact on the entire farm by reducing emergencies and increasing productivity with the tools and data analysis available in modern veterinary practice. So, what are these tools and what can we deliver above and beyond emergency care?

2. Cattle Surgery in the field – the fact that we do not have operating theatres does not prevent us
from undertaking surgery on cattle however, we need to ensure that we maximise success rates in
order to justify the cost and meet the highest welfare standards. This lecture will give examples of
surgical techniques and tips as to how to maximise the chances of successful outcomes.

Causes of dairy cow on-farm deaths – results from an ongoing study

Dairy cow mortality and on-farm deaths have been increasing worldwide over the last decades. This is an animal welfare issue, and it causes huge financial losses to the dairy industry. To successfully prevent premature deaths and mitigate their impacts, we need to understand why they occur. During the lecture, we will look at the most common causes of on-farm dairy cow deaths, based on results from an ongoing study in Finland.
